Title: Voice User Interface Connecting Clinicians with Supply Inventory Management Via Alexa

One of Po-Yin’s recent projects, VoiceConnect-S, has been working on implementing a voice assistant, Amazon Alexa, in the supply room to assist clinicians in supply retrieval. The success of the project will have the potential to streamline supply inventory management and improve patient care quality with reduced supply retrieval time in the supply room or on the phone, increased clinician satisfaction, and more time with patients. The project was one of the winners of the Big Ideas competition, sponsored by the Healthcare Innovation Lab, BJC HealthCare, and the Washington University Institute for Informatics, to develop collaborative clinical, operational, and research innovations in informatics and health care delivery.  Link to Big Ideas Competition
