The 2022 HIMSS-ANI Nursing Informatics Leadership Award
This award recognizes an individual who demonstrates significant leadership contributions by optimizing health engagements and care outcomes through information and technology. It is given to an individual for success and achievement as a nursing informatics leader in a provider, supplier or academic organization, or a professional society.
The 2022 recipient is Marisa Wilson, DNSc, MHSc, CPHIMS, RN-BC, FAMIA, FIAHSI, FAAN. Dr. Wilson is the Interim Department Chair, Associate Professor, and Director of the Graduate Leadership Pathway University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing. Dr. Wilson is a well-respected nursing informatics thought leader who demonstrates prolific leadership, particularly focused on nursing informatics education. She is actively involved in nursing informatics leadership for HIMSS, the TIGER Initiative, the American Academy of Nursing, and AMIA. Dr. Wilson is a workgroup member for the ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Informatics Practice and the AACN Essentials revisions. Her record of publications and presentations is expansive and global – a stellar record of disseminating knowledge and engaging the community to achieve a vision of informatics competent nurses.
